Raising the Prestige

Published by

Raising the prestige in your center will take some time and plenty of equus. Just be patient and it should be fine. Basically, you just need to use everything Howrse has to offer for your EC. Grow crops, make mashes, have clean, fertile meadows, and big boxes with showers for your boarders. I’ll follow the same layout of the EC office page for simplicity.

Equestrian Center Comfort Rating:

1. Boxes:

Supply your center with one hundred large, 3 star boxes to get the highest prestige. It’s best if you can purchase these from the start. Each box should be equipped with a shower and flax bedding (straw bedding is of lower quality). Large boxes and showers are very expensive and to purchase 100 requires millions of equus (or 100 passes) (Note: 100 boxes improves the capacity prestige, not boxes). This will be a gradual process.

2. Equipment and Food:

Tack, fodder, and treats must be provided for your boarders.

  • Carrots: grow this in the spring to supply for boarders
  • Oats: grow this in the spring for boarders
  • Fodder: grow Alfalfa in the summer to produce fodder
  • Mash: grow apples in the fall (a harvest every 30 days), purchase flax seeds from the store, and grow wheat in the summer. Then go to the meadows page to create mash
  • Provide wraps, bonnets, and blankets for boarders
  • Tack: three star tack provides the highest prestige; this can be made in workshops

In order for these benefits to be available for the boarders, you need 1 piece of tack per box, 150 fodder/box, 75 oats/box, 15 mashes/box, and 15 carrots/box. Say you have 30 boxes, but a boarder uses that last piece of tack and it drops to 29 saddles available. Since there is not one per box, this advantage will be taken away from the boarders and will not be available until you purchase more. Keep an eye on the inventory to always have enough!

Unknown fact: in order for your EC to be displayed on the registration page, you need to have double the amount of benefits per box. Instead of 150 fodder/box, you’ll need 300. I believe this goes for tack as well.

Meadows do not affect prestige as much as before. As long as you have one acre per box and keep them as close to 100% as possible, you’re set for this category.

Center Capacity:

To reach 100% prestige in this category, the EC must own 100 boxes and 50% of boxes need to be occupied.

Horses’ Skills:

Horses boarding in your EC are compared to the top horses in the ranking. The higher skilled horses you have, the better. Start out with a lower skill requirement, around 500-750 skills. Over the next few days, approximate the average of the horses’ skills in your EC. Every few days, raise the skill level by 30-50 points. Don’t make it too drastic; boarders may be turned away. If you want to raise the price of boarding, do not raise the skill level the same day. Lesson gain is also based on the horses that are boarded.Unlike before, all skills come into account, rather than just Dressage (Although lessons DO NOT have an affect on prestige).

I have a separate page explaining how to improve competition prestige. Check it out here! This category has a slightly higher weight than before.

Divine horses:

Divines do not affect prestige, but they will help fulfill the box occupancy rate. Their skills, age, and health are not taken into account.

Does anybody know if, when you have a bunch of 0.00 skilled horses in your EC who are crushing your ranking, and you raise the minimum skill level to, say, 600 or so… will it throw them out? I want to fix my dropping rank but I don’t want to evict everyone!

(BTW My horse user is thewarrenranch and the international server if you want to congrat me and if you want to look at my site click my commenter name!)

@thewarrenranch: no raising the skill level will not remove horses already boarding in your EC

how do you destroy boxes as I no longer need as many but don’t know how to get rid of them

Their should be a plus at the end of an empty box, click on that, and their should be an icon to delete. ;)

Also,if your trying to get LOADS AMOUNT OF EQUUS,I would defiantly not have any Employes within your EC,because they take money for their salary. I would do that when starting an EC. Also have enough meadows,so like half of them are for your horses(20 or less boxes,or you have to have a groom),the rest for growing crops in their required seasons. Just a suggestion ^_^

    The Dropping Method

I have another tip for ya! If you really want to get equus and are struggling, buy as many droppings as possible with the money you have. then, make manure (25droppings=1 manure). Selling manure in the store is 190e. But you can only buy 1000 droppings a day and the profit you get from it is a little more than 7,000e.

    The Turnip Method

But, it you really want to get the big bucks, buy a couple of medium sized fields (If your money allows it. a few smalls are acceptable as well). buy four turnip seeds (depending on how many fields you have and how much money you have and how many seeds it takes for the field. 1 turnip seed bag=500e and 2seeds=1medium sized field). I normally harvest a more than 1,000 turnips in the summer time and they sell for 25e each making a normal total of more than 20,000e. Make sure you use Manure you’ve made! It takes a turnip 7 days to mature and using the manure makes them faster! In the last summer, I harvested four turnip crops and gained lots of money but I spend it on buying fields to rotate. Currently, I am trying to buy 6 acre fields to replace my 3acre fields so I can either rotate them or use them for crops.

~turnips take 7 days to mature and can only be planted in the summer time. so invest into a greenhouse so when you are growing carrots in the fields you can grow turnips in the greenhouse till the summer time. But beware! You can only have 1 green house!
~Natural disasters do lessen the amount of the crop
~Fertility does matter! So let your crop growing fields lay fallow till its time to grow once more.
~If you want to grow passes in your fields, Grow in the fall, use manure, and have a large 15 acre fertile field!

Can you add some about how to run the BEST competitions?

Also, how does it calculate the overall competition prestige? My competitions are, 63%, 50%, 43%, 25%, and 43%, with an average of 45%, but on my EC page, my competition prestige is only 35%.

And one more question. My stabling prestige is only 28%, but my minimum is 1200, and has been for a long time (this is on US Howrse, and I only have 8 boxes) Is this prestige determined by total amount for skills, or something else?

Thank you for having this website, it’s awesome and quite helpful! I use it all the time!

Is there anything from after 2010 about the new EC management?

Is leather the best cash crop? Would boarding 1 horse with 7000+ skills and then 49 divines bring the boarder prestige to 100%?
