Foal Games

Published by

Doing Foal Games properly is the most important part of training to get right, since it will increase the overall potential and skill level of the horse. These methods were written by nix.

Pay close attention to the feed amounts and the morale – the feeding will change based on the morale of the horse! Also, put your foal to bed in the pasture at night except for winter games and no pasture games.

These should work fine with the companions. View the Companion Guide if you would like to know more about each one.

    Hi Jessica27,

These really helped me. Matbe you could have one without a saltstone. Just suggesting. :)

  2. Jessicaon 15 May 2010 at 6:25 am

Sure thing! I’ll add one soon. Thanks for the suggestion!

  3. horseyhorsehorsey97on 16 May 2010 at 4:06 am

That is alright. Thanks for the help, this website is great!:D

  4. Annamarieon 31 May 2010 at 10:04 am

I like these, but one thing I’ve noticed is that they often end with the time over 20:00, and sometimes my horse’s energy is under 20%.

  5. JJsnackson 14 Jun 2010 at 1:31 am

What a great help this website is! Thanks!

  6. Marieba_amoebaon 07 Jul 2010 at 3:17 pm

Your horse has to be to sleep by 22:00, not 20:00.

  7. Katecaton 14 Jul 2010 at 1:00 pm

Your the best you helped me a lot!! THANKS!!!!!!!

  8. GoatVeton 18 Jul 2010 at 10:16 pm

Wow! Having this on your site is a really great idea. I’m glad you have it! Your site is beautiful, by the way! This is, like, my favorite Howrse help-site Ever! Thank you!

  9. Jessicaon 19 Jul 2010 at 2:31 pm

    Thanks so much! <3

  10. Marieba_amoebaon 21 Jul 2010 at 3:15 pm

I always use this site. :) If howrse had a ‘best site’ award, yours would be first by a long shot.

  11. craven2311on 21 Jul 2010 at 4:13 pm

I agree. As soon as I saw the new objectives I headed here because I knew Jessica would have something up about it and it would make much more sense then the ramblings in the forums lol.

  12. Jessicaon 21 Jul 2010 at 5:32 pm

    Aw, thanks! <3

  13. Jessicaon 21 Jul 2010 at 5:32 pm

You guys are so sweet! <3

  14. Marieba_amoebaon 21 Jul 2010 at 7:35 pm

Everyone thinks they know all about it on the Forums.

  15. bethon 10 Aug 2010 at 6:58 am

hi i was wondering how my mare can give birth to a male instead of a female foal xx

  16. Jessicaon 10 Aug 2010 at 3:15 pm

Even though you have a female horse, that doesn’t mean she can only birth to just fillies. It’s possible to get either genders.

  17. mammaon 10 Aug 2010 at 5:38 pm

Yeah, otherwise we’d only get females. xD

  18. Haleighon 25 Sep 2010 at 10:23 am

Hey,I was wondering, when you get a foal, how do you get a Mustang foal?It isn’t ever in the breed list when you first join.It was confusing to me because I really want one. How?

  19. Jessicaon 25 Sep 2010 at 11:58 am

Hm…What do you mean by getting a foal? Your mare giving birth to a foal or you getting a foal when you sign up? The Mustang might not be there when signing up since it was a breed added to the game later on.

  20. Haleighon 25 Sep 2010 at 3:01 pm

Oh….I meant when you sign up,but it doesn’t matter now since I have a Newf.Though when I get one I’ll get a stallion and breed her.Of course after they are both extremely well trained. Thanks Jessica!

  21. roxygirlon 07 Oct 2010 at 5:11 pm

hi i was wondering how much in all is it to give birth to a foal including the ultrasound?

  22. Jessicaon 07 Oct 2010 at 7:05 pm

Hm..I believe an ultrasound costs 50e, so it should be 550e.

  23. Mariaon 23 Oct 2010 at 2:40 am

    Hi,
I was jusr wondering why i keep getting colts? I have bred about 10 horses now and the foals are always colts. Are there any tricks to get fillies?

  24. Jessicaon 24 Oct 2010 at 7:57 am

    Nope, it’s always random. ;)

  25. Aniekon 04 Nov 2010 at 12:19 pm

    Hey,
I’ve a suggestion, if that’s possible. I’ve no carrots, and no salt stone. Maybe there’s a change to make an ‘tutorial’ for no carrots and no salt-stone.
Btw, this site is great, it helpes me a lot!

  26. Jessicaon 06 Nov 2010 at 10:24 am

I’ll try to add that. ;)
    Thanks!

  27. howrse - cheezy23on 14 Dec 2010 at 3:26 pm

Thanks Jess, these will be really handy in objective 67, by the way, you don’t have all the objectives up.

  28. Laurenon 24 Dec 2010 at 8:00 am

    Hello,

Jessica, this website was so helpful. You win for the best website ever award!

  29. Jessicaon 24 Dec 2010 at 10:54 am

    Thanks!

This is the most Fabulous site…i have learnt so much from you!! Thank you so much…Merry Xmas to you and ur family!! xoxox Ronda

  31. sambo12on 27 Dec 2010 at 6:43 pm

hi how can you build morale??

  32. Jessicaon 27 Dec 2010 at 10:46 pm

Mainly just apples and putting the horse in the meadow. Morale isn’t too important..only if it lowers too much.

  33. cheerios123456789on 11 Jan 2011 at 4:13 pm

These are awesome – but by any chance will you have any foal games for:

    No Salt Stone
    No Carrot
    No Box
    No Pasture

    Lol new versians :S

  34. Tiffanyon 11 Jan 2011 at 5:08 pm

These would be more useful if there was a version for foals with rabbits. When a horse has 0 energy, a stroke and then 2 carrots gets its energy to 20.

  35. Jessicaon 12 Jan 2011 at 9:10 am

Haha, yeah sorry, I only have what’s there.

  36. ~flutterflower~on 16 Jan 2011 at 11:58 am

When I tend to do 7 hours at 8 months it is too much energy for hte foal

  37. Tiffanyon 18 Jan 2011 at 7:34 pm

Can you do one with Shetlands but where they have no carrots or no meadows or both???

  38. Jessicaon 21 Jan 2011 at 9:31 am

Did you maybe forget something or not do the order right? Were you using normal foal games?

  39. tiffany_horse_loveron 22 Jan 2011 at 8:14 pm

I had a shetland boarded in an EC with no Carrots before & there meadows were nasty..
I didnt know if you could make one for it.

  40. PeaceLoveMorganson 29 Jan 2011 at 1:27 pm

I need help on objectives 27 and 53. If someone could buy a horse i put up for auction then sell it back, I would thank you!! and if someone could sell me a horse over 30 in the private sales for 500e, i would appreciated it! My username is PeaceLoveMorgans.

  41. Tiffanyon 24 Mar 2011 at 7:50 am

1.2 GP gain really is the max. My foal ate a piece of bread at 1 year 6 months, so it was able to play for an extra hour (with a modification to the schedule), but on the history it said that it had added 0 GP.

  42. Lucky321123on 09 Apr 2011 at 6:09 pm

the foal games just dont work for me

  43. Caseyon 03 May 2011 at 2:47 pm

why do none of the schedules for the foal games not appear for me on this page? :l

  44. Jessicaon 03 May 2011 at 4:10 pm

Should be listed under the explanation…

  45. Trishon 11 May 2011 at 6:40 pm

hi just letting you know that because they took out the salt block if you don’t have carrots you cant do the games right or is there a games out there with no salt stone or carrots for the new version

  46. Jessicaon 12 May 2011 at 4:08 pm

I’m pretty sure it will be near impossible to get a 1.20 gain. Although, it may be possible if you are boarding at an EC with a shower.

  47. Laurenon 14 May 2011 at 2:03 pm

Hello, the companions have arrived and I can’t play foal games anymore. Which pet is the best?

  48. Jessicaon 15 May 2011 at 11:07 am

The one that costs the most, will bring the most advantage to your horse. With the companions, you can’t play foal games again if you horse is over 1yr 6 months (or when the foal games end). Foal games are only available to the foals.

  49. redismyhorseon 16 May 2011 at 5:40 pm

I can’t play foal games anymore to complete objective #67. Could you make a chart to show me how with a certain companion… I really need to pass #67. Or anyone can PM at my username on Howrse which is redismyhorse.

  50. udontknowmynameon 17 May 2011 at 2:13 am

hello, coulod you maybe do some foal games for the companions? It would really help. Thanks!!!!!

  51. MellieMooon 27 May 2011 at 8:05 pm

    hi,
these are great! can you make one for no carrot and no saltstone because my filly doesnt have either
    thanks,
    Mel

  52. Jessicaon 27 May 2011 at 8:23 pm

Sorry, but without both, it’s impossible to participate in foal games. Try to enroll in an EC with carrots.

  53. zebby0593on 28 May 2011 at 6:43 am

Hi, is it possible to have some training guides. You know like the foal games but for training and BLUPing horses. And if they are already on, where are they?

    Thanks

  54. Jessicaon 29 May 2011 at 10:18 am

I have some posted under the Tips section, I think. Although they need to be updated. :s

  55. tabby4everon 10 Jun 2011 at 4:09 pm

i think howrse got rid of the games

  56. Becon 10 Jun 2011 at 10:04 pm

    Yeah I don’t see them! I have a 1yr old foal and it can’t do games! It’s really annoying!!!>:(

  57. Jessicaon 14 Jun 2011 at 7:18 pm

They are with the companions now – use the Foal Game schedule during the same time as the foal games were and it’ll be fine.

  58. Jessicaon 14 Jun 2011 at 7:18 pm

    It’s with the companion now.

  59. Becon 15 Jun 2011 at 2:26 am

So if your foal doesn’t have a companion it can’t play? That’s bad really I don’t like that!!!!!

  60. Jayon 16 Jun 2011 at 9:01 am

Yes you have to have a companion for the games

  61. mmrhorseson 20 Jun 2011 at 4:55 pm

do you have any training schedules for over 1 year 8 months?

  62. Jessicaon 21 Jun 2011 at 6:36 pm

In the Game Play tips sections (under Extras on HH) it explains the best way to train for 100 BLUP, but there is no specific training schedule to follow by time.

  63. horselover_s2on 24 Jul 2011 at 2:09 pm

Hey there! I love your site. It’s been really useful to me. I have a no carrot schedule I came up with since they changed it, if you don’t already have one.

  64. hirvijentaon 26 Sep 2011 at 2:40 am

    Hello, Jessica.
With the new updates, like you can’t give your own horses apples, so in the No Salt stone, I’ll need a friend of mine to give e’m apples at the right time. You should make one for the new updates…

  65. Wolfsongon 01 Oct 2011 at 7:55 pm

On US hours on loon watchers page there is foal games that don’t go over time or under 20% energy. I’m not sure what you guys are talking about, salstones and stuff. They were deleted I believe

  66. tinnasgirlon 11 Oct 2011 at 12:10 pm

Where did the games with No salt stone go????!!!!! I need them to train my Unicowrns!

  67. Jessicaon 11 Oct 2011 at 8:09 pm

They’re still here! It’s listed under the normal games – no games should require a salt stone now since they are no longer on Howrse

  68. PassionFruiton 29 Oct 2011 at 10:50 pm

Hi Jessica! These are really cool, I use them every time! I don’t bother reading Howrse news, I always come straight here lol. I’m Doodle47 (international) & PassionFruit (Gaia equidow, canadian & au).

  69. PrincessIvoryon 01 Dec 2011 at 12:48 pm

I did the Normal Games in Pounds and did them as the walkthrough directed for two of my foals and the objective didn’t validate so what did I do wrong?

  70. Kathryn236on 06 Dec 2011 at 10:27 pm

Hey, I just recently started coming to this site, so I just started the foal games today. I have a 2mo, and two 6mos. I’d like them to have mucho increased skill levels by the end of the games, but with the 6 mo colts, will their skill level be much less than the 2mo? Also, what’s the average skill increase on the games?

  71. toffeegirl2on 12 Dec 2011 at 12:22 pm

when i go to put a cheat in does it go in the “Promotional code” bit?

  72. kooldogz7on 28 Jan 2012 at 4:57 pm

I found your website last night. Wish I had found it a while ago because I could have had my horses trained better. The good thing is I am learning from my mistakes and have been following suggestions on this site. I really appreciate all the hard work you did to produce this website. Thank you!

  73. callie1202on 01 Feb 2012 at 10:57 pm

I am using my Purebred Spanish horse with a zebra!!
